The information age changes our way to live and work. Yet, the human body is not made for our modern way of life.
Prevailing brain work is taking place in a sitting posture. It has replaced walking and running, for what the human body is originally made for. This discrepancy between our modern lifestyle and the evolutionary purpose of our body causes diseases such as back pain, diabetes or depressions (see Knowledge).
The mission of Vintus is that people stay healthy. For this purpose, we need to change the office work as we know it today.
Vintus pursues this way of change together with users and partners from academia, economy and pubic administrations. The focus is on Hipwings. Their concept arose at the intersection between medicine and engineering. The project was started at RWTH Aachen University and is continued with medical studies at Ruhr-University Bochum. Vintus is supported by the european funds for regional and structural development (EFRE).
